Group Fixed Support

What this services offers

Stop smoking groups run by the Smokefree Community Services are the most effective way to stop smoking. The advisors provide weekly support sessions in local venues, usually in groups. The groups normally run for 7 weeks for one hour each week. The advisors will discuss Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT), Champix and Zyban and if appropriate give you a form to take to your GP or pharmacist requesting the product of your choice (normal prescription charges/exemptions apply and getting Zyban or Champix is dependent upon a medical assessment by your GP). The groups are relaxed, informal and friendly and you will get support and encouragement from the advisors and the other quitters in the group which means that you will be much more likely to stop smoking than going it alone.

Groups are run in the daytime and evening - contact for details or see the website (www.nhsggcsmokefree.org.uk).
