What this services offers
If you are going into hospital and would like support to stop smoking, services for inpatients are�available in the Borders General Hospital. Intensive support is provided during a patient's stay, as well as Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) on discharge and telephone follow up by a local stop smoking advisor in the community.
The BGH Support Worker is available Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm.

Smokers can self-refer to the service via the smoking information line on 0844 8118180. In-patients are most commonly referred by the ward doctor.
The Information Line is open Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm, to give information about local services, put names on waiting list, give leaflets and take referrals. An out of hours answering facility is available.
